Frequently asked Question
why should I use caring companions rather than hiring a caregiver directly?
Caring companions provides a comprehensive assessment and individualized care plan delivered by professionals in their field. As an agency, we screen, hire, and train our employees. Sometimes families think they will save money by hiring a caregiver directly rather than going through an agency. When they hire someone directly, they become the employer and are fully responsible for their caregiver employee. Hiring a caregiver directly can sometimes save a few dollars in the short term but there are important considerations that people should be aware of before making this important decision. The most important is the quality of a care for your loved one.

After an initial assessment and evaluation of needs and desire, our client care coordinator meets personally with the client and family or friends as appropriate and determine what is the profile of the “ideal” caregiver for the client. We then choose two or three staff members who meet the chosen profile and place them on a trial basis. If the client and all involved in the client’s care are satisfied with the match, we keep the caregivers at the client’s car to always have a relief person and bring variety and challenging activities as appropriate. The amount of caregivers will determine on the amount of hours each client has.
